From June 2007 to November 2010, I had the privilege of living and serving in Rwanda, East Africa through World Relief and other ministries. I went to Rwanda to provide better education, but ended up receiving greater knowledge and love. I met and married my Burundian husband and we now reside in California.  Africa will always be my second home sweet home. My Rwandan friends gave me the name “Amahoro” which means “peace.” I am forever tied to East Africa by marriage, love, and friendships. I hope these photos give you a glimpse into the miraculous and life-changing experience I was given.

I was also inspired to write and record two songs for Rwanda in a Rwandan studio. “Bridge to Rwanda” is about the bridge of reconciliation — one of love, peace, and salvation — that God is building for Rwanda. “Urukundo [Love] for the Children” is about hope for the children of Rwanda, some of whom have been abandoned to live on the streets as “mayibobos.” That’s my sweet husband Jean-Paul playing the guitar and my friend who produced these in the studio. I hope you enjoy these. Feel free to share.

Blessings,

Linda
